OTS Child Passenger Safety Assistant |
|
This class will provide basic education on child
passenger safety and child safety seat installation, crash dynamics
and much more! This 12-hour course includes 8 hours of classroom
instruction the first day, followed by a second day that includes 4
hours of installation at a car seat checkpoint.

NHTSA Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Technician
Course 32-hour |
|
This is a comprehensive, nationally standardized
36-hour training course in Child Passenger Safety.
Topics include:
- the need for child passenger safety programs
- relevant federal legislation and safety
standards
- crash dynamics, vehicle occupant protection
systems
- selection and use of child restraint systems
- correct installation of child restraints
- misuse and compatibility issues and more.
The course includes 32 hours of classroom
instruction, followed by 4 hours of installation at a car seat
checkpoint. |

This fast-paced, 8-hour course is designed for
Technicians and Instructors whose certification has expired.
The course is available for all expired technicians, regardless of
how long their certification has been
expired. A student who does not pass the renewal course will need to
take the full Certification Course. |
